Green Urban Signs New Memorandums in the Field of Water Conservation

On May 21, 2026, as part of the presentation of the Smart Water Zone environmental initiative — aimed at promoting responsible water use practices among companies in Kazakhstan — the Green Urban Association signed a number of memorandums of cooperation with organizations operating in the fields of water resources, science, analytics, and sustainable development.

The Memorandum of Cooperation between the Green Urban Association and the National JSC “Water Resources Information and Analytical Center” of the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan covers the development of cooperation in the areas of water resources, ecology, sustainable development, urban studies, and analytical and expert activities, as well as the implementation of joint projects and initiatives. The memorandum was signed on behalf of the Center by Deputy Chairwoman of the Board Zhanna Amangeldiyanova Kazzhanova.

Continuing the line of integrating expert, scientific, and practical agendas, the Green Urban Association also signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the National JSC “Kazakh National Agrarian Research University”. The agreement is aimed at developing mutually beneficial partnerships, joint initiatives, and projects in the areas of sustainable development, environmental transformation, and professional training.

The document was signed on behalf of First Deputy Chairman of the Board – Rector of the University, Ibragimov Primkul Sholpankulovich. The signing was attended online by Abasov Rafis Fanisovich — Vice-Rector for International Affairs and Director of the Institute of Green and Sustainable Development.

The signing of the memorandums reflects the growing demand for combining the competencies of government, science, the expert community, and industry organizations around practical sustainable development tasks. Issues of water resource management, environmental sustainability, analytics, and professional training increasingly require cross-sector collaboration, joint expertise, and long-term partnerships.

The Green Urban Association expresses its gratitude to its partners for their readiness for joint work and is confident that the agreements reached will serve as a foundation for the implementation of practical projects, the exchange of expertise, and the development of sustainable solutions for Kazakhstan.
