Smart Plastic Zone

The project is open to any organization interested in reducing the environmental impact of plastic.
Participants can include hotels, restaurants, shopping centers, offices, beauty salons, schools, universities, and other organizations that are already changing and/or are willing to change their plastic use habits.

The project does not require a complete abolition of plastic.
We propose a reasonable reduction in the use of plastic products, waste minimization, and active involvement in recycling.

Instead of abolition, our goal is to move toward a more responsible and sustainable use of plastic, and to introduce alternatives where possible.

Verification involves checking your facility's form to confirm the information provided, including documents (if available).
After verification, the facility receives a score.

If it meets the requirements, it is awarded a Smart Plastic Zone label (gold or silver). If it does not meet the requirements, recommendations are provided. Once these recommendations are completed, the facility can re-complete the application (no sooner than 30 days later).

The area of ​​the facility is required to calculate the total Smart Plastic Zone in Kazakhstan based on the area of ​​facilities that have received the Smart Plastic Zone label.

Yes, you can participate in the project, regardless of whether your facility is located in a city that officially participates in the project.
The project's principles and approaches are universal and can be applied anywhere.
We support the participation of organizations across the country and plan to expand the project to other cities next year.

Project participants gain access to a variety of educational materials, including webinars and recommendations for implementing environmentally sustainable practices.
We also provide a personalized report with recommendations for your facility to improve its Smart Plastic Zone level.
